COLUMBUS, NJ - The West Essex girls track team finished second overall with 38 points in the NJSIAA Group 3 state meet last weekend at Northern Burlington High School.

Reanda Richards finished first in two events at the NJSIAA Group 3 track meet. The junior won the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.35 and the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.30. Richards also came in second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.22.

West Essex placed second in the 4x400 meter relay, with the foursome of Hailey Blum, Gabriela Karch, Alexia Perez and Richards clocking in at 3:55.74.

Blum came in sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25:14, and she placed eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.51.

Perez was sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.48.

Junior Julia Geiger tied for eighth place in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet even.

And Celia White came in ninth in the javelin with a throw of 105-01.
