West Essex Marching Band Wins Chapter 10 Championship

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - It was record-breaking championship for the West Essex High School Marching Band Oct. 20. The band broke the school record for receiving the highest score at the Tournament of Bands Chapter 10 Championships hosted by West Essex. The band came in first place for High Music, High Visual and Best Color Guard and scored a 92.95 at the Chapter Championships, where more than 20 bands competed.

The West Essex Marching Knights performed “The Rite of Spring: Recoiled” in the Group 2 Open Class part of the tournament. The ensemble is currently ranked No. 4 on the East Coast as they head to the Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey Park, PA. Nov. 3.
