NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - As relaxing music played in the background, West Essex Middle School students used colorful magic markers to create "zen" works of art in the zen program in the Middle School Library.
Librarian Catherine Spinella said she came up with the idea for the lunch study activity and that students enjoyed it so much that she made it a regular activity.
"It's clear from the overwhelming positive response to zen coloring that it's a fun, relaxing, and creative activity that enables students to relax and recharge in the middle of their very busy, active lives," Spinella said.
