Winners of 19th Annual Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale Announced


WHIPPANY, NJ - Winners of the 19th annual Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale were announced at the Opening Reception on Sunday, June 10.   The show will run through Sunday, July 29 at the Gaelen Gallery West, Aidekman Family Campus, 901 Route 10 East, Whippany.

Awards were presented at the Opening Reception for Best in Show and Best /Honorable Mention in the following categories: Photography, Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, and Sculpture. The distinguished jurors were: Matt Gosser, NJIT Professor and Gallery Director and Jeri Greenberg, renowned Pastelist and Pastel Instructor.

The Annual Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale is the continued realization of Audrey and Norbert Gaelen’s dream to offer talented and creative artists a unique and prestigious venue for their art. It is highly selective featuring 45 artists from the greater MetroWest area represented with over 80 works of art this year. Most of the art in the show is for sale.  The Gaelen Committee includes Audrey Gaelen, Gary Denburg, Bernard Morcheles, Lois Dyer, Julie Levine, and Oscar Peterson. The Gaelen Juried Art Show Coordinator is Lisa Suss.

Honorable Mention Drawing--Margaret Cohen,Night Moves

Best Mixed Media--Kat Block, High Drama
Honorable Mention Mixed Media-Judy Gould, World View

Best Painting-- Sara Greenberg, Lion
Honorable Mention Painting-- Joan Gantz, Elevation

Best Photography--Albert Martin, Bad Hair Day in the Field

The exhibition is free and open to the public through Sunday, July 29. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and select Sunday mornings 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (hours vary, please call ahead: 973-929-3167).
