Daily Rate of New COVID Cases in Essex County Down 69% in Last 2 Weeks

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- Data shows that the county is sharply on the downside of the curve of the most recent spike in COVID cases.

Monday, Jan. 17 marked the first day of 2022 in which the number of new confirmed positive tests was below 1,000. There were 782 new COVID cases in Essex County as of Monday morning.

By comparison, on Jan. 1, there were 4,027 new cases.

MONTVILLE, NJ – A woman and her two young children are missing from Towaco, and Montville Township and Morris County law enforcement officials are seeking the public’s help in finding them.

NEW JERSEY — The State Department of Health reported 25,277 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, the seventh-straight day of more than 25,000 new cases in New Jersey.  79 new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported.
