"Mindfulness in the Age of Twitter" at West Caldwell Library

In our 24/ 7 world of non-stop commitments, cable news and social media distractions, how can we create a space for silence, solitude and reflection?  For 3 years, author Judith Valente, an award-winning poet and former journalist, was a regular visitor to Mount St. Scholastica monastery in Atchison, KS, one of the oldest Benedictine monasteries in the country. There she learned how to live a life of contemplation and attentiveness amid the distractions of contemporary life. This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. To sign-up, call the Library at 973-226-5441 or sign-up online @ https://bccls.libcal.com/event/6451591.
