Virtual Peaceful Poetry Reading Series

The West Caldwell Public Library will present a weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” featuring 15 accomplished poets from throughout Essex County. The poetry readings can be viewed on Thursdays at 6:00 pm on the Library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.Each poet will share a 15-minute video of him/her reading some of their favorite poems, which are intended to offer you tranquility and peace of mind during these times.

The second poetry reading, airing on Thursday, May 14 at 6:00 pm, will feature award-winning and prolific poet Charlotte Mandel of West Caldwell, who will read poems from Alive and In Use and To Be the Daylight, two of her full-length collection of poems published by Kelsay Books. She has also published nine other poetry anthologies and was the winner of the New Jersey Poets Prize in 2012 and received Fellowship grants in Poetry from the NJ Council on the Arts in 1980 and 1983.

Some of the other award-winning poets participating in the weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” include Sandra Duguid, Diane Lockward (who organized the Poetry Reading Series), Michael Mandzik and David Vincenti of West Caldwell, Rick Mullin of Caldwell and Ted Eisenberg of North Caldwell.
