West Caldwell: Virtual "Peaceful Poetry Reading Series"

The West Caldwell Public Library will present a weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” featuring 15 accomplished poets from throughout Essex County. The poetry readings can be viewed on Thursdays at 6:00 pm on the Library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.Each poet will share a 15-minute video of him/her reading some of their favorite poems, which are intended to offer you tranquility and peace of mind during these times.

The eighth poetry reading, airing on Thursday, June 25 at 6:00 pm, will feature local poet and retired lawyer Theodore Eisenberg of North Caldwell, who will read poems from his chapbook This (published in 2017) as well as some of his new poems dealing with the sea, nature and the seasons. His poems have appeared in such literary journals as the Listening Eye, Midstream, Jewish Currents, Poetica, Halfway Down the Stairs, Slipstream Press, Lighthouse Literary Journal, Main Street Rag, The Ragged Sky Anthology and Crosswinds Press. His chapbook This was published by Finishing Line Press in 2017.  He practiced labor law for 38 years and retired in 2014, which is when he decided to take up writing poetry again. He has a bachelors degree from Cornell University and attended law school at Georgetown University. 

Some of the other local award-winning poets participating in the weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” include Sandra Duguid, Diane Lockward (who organized the Poetry Reading Series), Michael Mandzik and Vincenzo Bollettino of West Caldwell.
