West Caldwell: Virtual Peaceful Poetry Reading Series

The West Caldwell Public Library will present a weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” featuring 15 accomplished poets from throughout Essex County. The poetry readings can be viewed on Thursdays at 6:00 pm on the Library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Each poet will share a 15-minute video of him/her reading some of their favorite poems, which are intended to offer you tranquility and peace of mind during these times.

The fourth poetry reading, airing on Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 pm, will feature prolific poet, artist and journalist Rick Mullin of Caldwell, who will read poems from his recent collection Lullaby and Wheel and some of his new poems. He has published several full-length poetry collections including Transom, Sonnets from the Voyage of the Beagle, and Soutine. He has also published two chapbooks The Stones Jones Canzones and Aquinas Flinched. His poems have appeared in various literary journals including American Arts Quarterly, The New Criterion, Dark Horse, Raintown Review and Rabbit Ears: TV PoemsHe writes business articles for the magazine Chemical and Engineering News and travels extensively for his job.  

Some of the other award-winning poets participating in the weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” include Sandra Duguid, Diane Lockward (who organized the Poetry Reading Series), and Michael Mandzik of West Caldwell and Ted Eisenberg of North Caldwell.
