“Mamma Mia!,” a jukebox musical written by Catherine Johnson, tells the story of an engaged young woman who, unbeknownst to her single mother, invites three men to her wedding who might be her father. The romantic comedy is based on hit songs by ABBA, the Swedish supergroup that took the pop world by storm in the 70s and 80s.
This year’s production stars West Essex seniors Liliana Patracuolla and Ashley Thomas as the iconic mother-daughter duo of Donna and Sophie Sheridan.
Rounding out “The Dynamos,” a former musical trio made up of Donna and her two best friends, are seniors Amy Grunther and Sofia Pastena as Tanya and Rosie, respectfully.
Sophie’s fiancé, Sky, will be portrayed by junior Grant King, while her three possible fathers—Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright and Bill Austin—will be portrayed by senior Nicholas Stampone, sophomore Aidan Harn-Flood and freshman Hudson King, respectfully.
