CALDWELL, NJ — Caesar and Martha Mistretta have combined their more than 15 years of fitness and business experience to open their second fitness studio in Caldwell, Evolve Cycle and Fitness, a premier fitness boutique located at 353 Bloomfield Ave.
Mayor Ann Dassing and Councilman Jonathan Lace came out last week to welcome Evolve Cycle and Fitness to the Caldwell community with an official ribbon-cutting. Dassing stated that local businesses will benefit from having a premier fitness boutique in town because when people come to work out, they might also "grab a coffee next door or shop in a nearby store."
“Small Local businesses in Caldwell offer a personal customer experience that can’t be found in large retail outlets or online” said Lace.
The couple also owns CrossFit Caldwell, Evolve's next-door neighbor. Martha is a certified CrossFit coach and has earned several other fitness certifications throughout the years.
“We were looking to expand our fitness classes and this location became available," she said. "We jumped on the opportunity to open a fitness studio attached to CrossFit Caldwell that allows us to offer a variety of classes for all fitness levels.”
Betsy Mackin, a member of both Evolve Cycle and Fitness and CrossFit Caldwell, said that she has been a CrossFit member for three years and now enjoys all the classes that Evolve Cycle and Fitness has to offer. She added that the classes and the studio are phenomenal, as are the instructors.
“I'm hoping that the Caldwell community embraces the brand new state-of-the-art studio and participates in all that it has to offer,” said Mackin.
Evolve Cycle and Fitness offers three types of indoor cycling: EVO Ride, a classic road ride; EVO Ride and Sculpt, which incorporates weights; and EVO Ride an Groove, a beats-driven cycling class.
In addition to indoor cycling classes, Evolve Cycle and Fitness also offers EVO CardioBox, EVO Total Body Suspension, EVO DanceFit, EVO Bootcamp, and EVO Pulse. Martha explained that EVO Pulse is a proprietary fitness class using isometric movements and core work.
Evolve Cycle and Fitness and Crossfit Caldwell member Lance Taylor said that the EVO Ride classes are excellent and the EVO CardioBox is a lot of fun.
EVO Total Body Suspension and EVO Bootcamp instructor Nicole Greco Peepas has been a fitness coach for more than 12 years and started teaching Total Body Suspension (or TRX Suspension) training in 2009.
"Total Body Suspension uses your own body weight and is constantly working your core," said Peepas. “Total Body Suspension is great for all fitness levels.”
Fitness instructor Paula DiVincenzo, who teaches DanceFit and cycling, is bringing her love of dance and her teaching experience to her new Evolve Cycle and Fitness Kids Hip Hop Class starting in September.
