WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Ricky Caamano, a senior at James Caldwell High School, recently signed a letter of intent to attend Muhlenberg College, where he will continue his wrestling career.

Caamano wrestled in the 113-pound weight class for most of his senior season. He helped the Chiefs to a Section 2, Group 2 team championship with a victory by pin in a time of 2:48 in the championship meet against Hackettstown, which Caldwell won, 29-26.

Caamano also reached the NJSIAA District 11 individual championship round at 113 pounds last winter. He got there by pinning Jesse Pepper of Montclair in 2:28 of the district semifinal before losing by decision, 7-3, to Mendham's Chris Tringali in the final.

As a junior, Caamano wrestled most of the season at 106 pounds, but he was undefeated that year in three matches at 113.
