CALDWELL, NJ — Research suggests that kindergarten is a critical year in life when social skills and academic habits are formed. Kindergarten often may include a new school, new teachers, new friends and a whole new routine.

Trinity Academy in Caldwell will be offering the Kindergarten Experience on Monday, Jan. 13 and Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The Trinity Academy Kindergarten Experience is an opportunity for young children to spend an hour engaged in kindergarten-level activities with Trinity's kindergarten teachers. The children are introduced to their new learning environment while feeling comforted in the knowledge that their parent or caregiver is in the next room.

By participating in a kindergarten class, children will get the chance to gain confidence in the experience, meet new friends and familiarize themselves with a kindergarten classroom.

This enrichment opportunity is open to any child, not only those registered to attend Trinity Academy in the fall. Prospective parents and their children are welcome to take this opportunity to get to know Trinity Academy and its full-day kindergarten program.

Parents are encouraged to attend as well and learn what the differences are between Pre-K, kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten curriculum.

Arrive at 9:45 a.m., register at the front office and you will be escorted to the library, where there will be light refreshments. Children will be brought to the kindergarten room together as a group from the library.

Anyone who is interested may RSVP on the Trinity Academy website: https://trinityk8.com/kindergarten-experience

Located at 235 Bloomfield Ave., Trinity has a full-day kindergarten. Before care is free, and aftercare is available until 6 p.m for a fee. Trinity also offers Transitional Kindergarten, which is for Pre-K4 students who aren’t quite ready socially or academically for the rigors of kindergarten. Rather than repeat Pre-K4, they enter transitional kindergarten, where they “step up” and focus on kindergarten prep.
