Dear Editor,

I have lived in 8 different towns in 2 different states and in 2009 I decided to purchase a house and call Fairfield my permanent home.  This was by far the best decision of my life.  I am so blessed to live in such a wonderful town with such a strong sense of community.  In the past when I have been sick, people literally have left food at my door.  I have friends and neighbors that I consider family.

I have children in the school system and the teachers and staff are the most wonderful loving people who go above and beyond to make our children feel loved and safe.  My husband who has lived here for 43 years has never even considered living anywhere else.

In recent months however, I have been hearing and reading many negative things about our town and community. From what I know these rumors have all proven to be false.  As a result of such harmful untruths which have been spread, I see and feel unnecessary discord among our community. Nothing positive has or will come from attempts at raising unrest for gains that do not have our towns best interest in mind. Now more than ever, we need to come together as a community and keep our town safe from those who wish to bring divisiveness. Time for a change????? How about, If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it.
