As a resident of Fairfield, the parent of two West Essex graduates, and recently-retired as superintendent of the West Essex School District, my firsthand knowledge of the West Essex Board of Education and their interactions with one another is significant. It is important for voters to consider the irrefutable fact that the current Board has been the one to guide West Essex Schools on the road to the excellence it has achieved.
This Board and the incumbent members are very familiar with past projects, the district budgets, and are well-versed in district policies. It is without question that they have been an integral part of the many successes the district has attained in academic programs, athletics, fine arts, and facility improvements, which combine to make our campus one that is envied by visitors to our schools.
Further, the success of the district’s new superintendent and new middle school principal will be strongly impacted by the Board of Education. Thus, this election is especially critical during this important period of transition. This Board and the incumbents running for re-election have the experience and record of success that deserves the community’s support, and the other candidates simply do not.
Consistency will ensure future success and I urge the West Essex Community to maintain the current Board of Education when casting their votes on Election Day. This Board is an intelligent, knowledgeable, cohesive unit of community volunteers and the West Essex School District deserves to have them continue the great work they have begun.
Deborah Sacco-Calderone, Judith Amorim Dias and Anthony Prinzo are the only choices for West Essex!
