FAIRFIELD, NJ - With the fate of youth football still unknown due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Fairfield Falcons Football and Cheer Boosters came together as one team to support their very own hometown heroes by selling "Stronger Together" T-shirts from Game Day Sports in Wayne, NJ. 100% of the profits went to the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department and Fairfield Police Department in the amount of $1,000 each.
Lieutenant Peter Pollack and Fire Chief Andrew Williams accepted the donations on behalf of the Police and Fire Departments and said they were very appreciative of the support from the Fairfield Boosters and community. Pollack also thanked the volunteers at the fire department and West Essex First Aid Squad and Atlantic Emergency Medicine Services (EMS).
Our motto in these trying times is “if we can’t do what we do, let’s do what we can.” said Falcons Football President, Denise Maglione.
"We wanted to show our appreciation to these everyday hometown heroes during these very difficult and uncertain times."
Fairfield Recreation Director Anthony Pompei said he had no word on youth sports registration for the Fall at this time and that it was dependent on the New Jersey Governors mandate.
