WEST CALDWELL, NJ — After wowing the students of all four Caldwell-West Caldwell (CWC) elementary schools as well as Grover Cleveland Middle School (GCMS) in October, Harlem Wizard James Tyndall (aka The Road Runner) will return to West Caldwell on Tuesday for the Harlem Wizards fundraising game against the CWC Superstars on at 7 p.m. at James Caldwell High School (JCHS).

As part of the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation (CWCEF) fundraiser, district teachers, administrators and staff members will participate in a "slamtastic" game of basketball against the world-famous Harlem Wizards.

During his CWC assemblies last month, Tyndall impressed the students with his dribbling and ball-handling tricks and invited them to try their luck at a Wizard tryout. He also emphasized his team's “High Five for PRIDE” program, which stands for "positivity, respect, integrity, discipline and empathy."

All proceeds from the Wizards-CWC Superstars game will benefit the CWCEF, a non-profit 501© 3 organization run by volunteers whose mission is to provide funds to the CWC district teachers and schools for the educational materials and programs not otherwise available through the CWC Board of Education budget.

Some programs and materials that the CWCEF has funded include a $10,000 Lego Robotics kit for the GCMS STEM room, funds for percussion instruments and mouthpieces for the JCHS music department, a multi-sensory learning center for the Harrison Pre-School Special Education program and various funding for Chromebooks, reading libraries and STEM initiatives at the elementary schools.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at the CWCEF website for $15 per student or $20 per adults.

Reserved-seating tickets are available for $30, which includes a free Wizard poster in addition to seating close to the court. Courtside Plus tickets are also available for $55, which includes an opportunity to meet the players before the game, a souvenir lanyard, a color team photo and a $10 discount on a Wizards replica jersey.
