WEST ESSEX AREA, NJ -- Six communities in western Essex County saw a cumulative increase of 16 cases of COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

There were six additional cases in Caldwell, bringing its updated total to 83. West Caldwell had 139 cases, an increase of three since late Saturday; Fairfield (+4) has 85 cases, and Roseland (+3) had 61 cases. There were no additional cases in North Caldwell (34) or Essex Fells (16).

Across Essex County, there have been 11,083 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday at 9 a.m. The county reports 847 deaths that have been associated with the coronavirus. In Essex County, 8,033 COVID-19 tests have come back negative.

Statewide, there is a total of 92,387 cases, an increase of 3,581 overnight, with the statewide death toll now at 4.753, an increase of 376 overnight, according to the State Department of Health. Statewide there have been 92,439 negative test results.
