FAIRFIELD, NJ — An evergreen tree that fell into a home on Henrietta Drive was among the incidents that the Fairfield Police Department responded to during and after Tropical Storm Isaias on Tuesday.

Officers responded after it was reported that a large evergreen tree fell onto the house at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found that a tree had severely damaged a second-floor bedroom. The house was occupied at the time of the incident and one of the residents sustained a minor injury.

Power was slowly being restored in Essex County. As of early Thursday afternoon, more than 21,000 PSEG and First Energy customers throughout the county were still without power.

“While the township has experienced a wide amount of damage and power outages, we are extremely thankful that no one was seriously injured during this weather event” Fairfield Police Chief Anthony G. Manna said.
