NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - The West Essex boys basketball team built a nine-point halftime lead and held off Orange for a 48-45 upset victory Thursday.

Brett Reo scored 15 points and Oliver Ortman connected for 13 points for West Essex (6-6), which outscored the Tornadoes, 19-9, in the second quarter to take a 28-19 lead.

BELLEVILLE, NJ - After falling behind by 12 points in the first quarter, the Caldwell boys basketball team rallied and just fell short in a 43-42 loss to Belleville Tuesday night.

Brian Finnegan finished with nine points for Caldwell, which recovered from its slow start with a 15-6 spurt in the second quarter. Caldwell had lost by 15 points when the Chiefs played Belleville last month.
