WEST CALDWELL, NJ -- Caldwell pulled away in the third quarter en route to a 70-57 boys basketball victory over Newark Academy on Tuesday.
Senior forward Hank Morgan returned to the lineup after missing a couple of games for Caldwell (11-2) and scored a team-high 21 points. Michael Giannetta added 14 points for the Chiefs, who outscored Newark Academy, 17-8, in the third quarter to take a 53-38 lead.
Brendan O'Donnell scored 12 points and Cristian Talavera connected for 11 points for Caldwell. Chase Clarke of Newark Academy (4-9) finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Caldwell completed a season sweep of Newark Academy, having won a road matchup in overtime on Jan. 3.
