WEST CALDWELL, NJ -- Playing its first game since an heroic stab at a huge upset in the Essex County Tournament, the Caldwell boys soccer team administered an 8-0 thumping on Mountain Lakes on Monday.

Carson Filion scored two goals and assisted on one, and Scott Bivona scored two goals for the Chiefs (11-6), who led, 4-0, at halftime. Jimmhy Rizzo finished with one goal and one assist, and Owen Coogen-Russel, Brendan O'Donnell and Ethan Layton all scored a goal in the victory.

Caldwell came very close to knocking off third-seeded Montclair last week in the semifinals of the Essex County Tournament before losing, 1-0.
