NEWARK, NJ — The West Essex boys soccer team opened its season with a 7-1 victory over Barringer on Thursday.

The Knights pulled away from a 3-1 halftime lead with four unanswered goals in the second half. West Essex outshot Barringer, 21-5.

Luke Brignola and Johnathan Trigazis each scored two goals and Trigazis added an assist. Alex Davidson finished with one goal and two assists, and Gianfranco Vitella and Joe Twdroos each had one goal and one assist. Alden Davidson also passed for an assist.
