WEST CALDWELL, NJ — The Caldwell football team came away with its first victory of the season, defeating Glen Ridge, 39-0, in the rain at home Friday night.

Jeff LaQuaglia scored a pair of touchdowns, including a 9-yard run in the first quarter to put the Chiefs (1-2) on the board. 

Luke Kurzum connected with Steve Holler on a 12-yard TD pass in the second quarter, and then Nick McNish, who had kicked both extra points, connected on a 27-yard field goal for a 17-0 lead. A 14-yard TD run by LaQuaglia capped the first-half scoring.

Marc Simone's 57-yard TD pass to Harry Boland and Ethan Cavallo's conversion run extended the lead to 32-0. Then Peter Murray hit Cavallo with a 14-yard TD pass late in the third period to close out the scoring.
