JERSEY CITY, NJ -- West Essex scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to break open a close game en route to a 34-12 football victory over Lincoln High School on Friday night.
Nicholas Ciaglia ran for one TD and passed for two and Chris Bell scored two TDs for the Knights (4-1), who led, 13-6, at halftime.
Ciaglia connected with Jake Cusano on a 49-yard scoring pass in the third quarter to extend West Essex' lead to 20-6. Bell's 3-yard TD run made it 27-7, and Bell went in from the 9-yard line early in the fourth quarter to make it 34-7.
The Knights put up two touchdowns in the first quarter to open a 13-0 lead. Ciaglia sneaked in from the 1 and Tyler Logan kicked the extra point for a 7-0 lead. Ciaglia's 34-yard TD pass to Chris Corbo extended the West Essex lead to 13-0.
