VERNON, NJ -- The West Essex ice hockey team took 40 shots on goal and came away with a 7-4 victory over Vernon Saturday night.

Justin Bergman scored two goals and had two assists for the Knights (10-9-3), who led, 4-2, after two periods. West Essex outshot Vernon, 40-28.

Jack Santoro also scored two goals for West Essex, and Rocco Garcia, Clayton Prial and Joe Namyatov scored one goal each in the victory. Winning goalie Jason Albrecht made 24 saves.
