ROSELAND, NJ — Roseland children in first through eighth grade are encouraged to register for the Borough of Roseland’s baseball and softball program via Community Pass by March 6 for $100 per player.

“Besides the obvious physical benefits of youth sports to our children, youth sports build confidence, promote the benefits of teamwork and teach life skills to Roseland’s youth which are essential to not only sports but life,” said Mayor James Spango. “We are excited for another wonderful year of memories for our children and with our children.”

Participants will be sorted by grade level into four categories: grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Games are played in Roseland and other local West Essex communities depending on the grade level.

A $15 late fee will be applied between March 7 and March 13, and there is no guarantee that space will be available for late submissions, according to the borough.

“Every spring, Roseland children look forward to playing on Roseland’s baseball and softball teams,” said Councilwoman Michele Tolli, liaison to the recreation committee. “Games are well attended by parents, grandparents and local residents. Our fields are kept in excellent playing conditions and safety is our main concern.”
