EAST ORANGE, NJ - Football players from Essex, Passaic, Morris, Sussex and Warren will be trying to make their mark in the Paul Robeson Classic All-Star football game today at Robeson Field in East Orange.

The game pits the best players in these counties in an East vs. West matchup to celebrate the life and career of Robeson, the 1919 Rutgers valedictorian, who was an All-American athlete while he played football there and went on to play 15 NFL games with the Akron Pros and Milwaukee Badgers.

Here are some of the East’s players to keep an eye on in the All-Star Classic.

WEST ORANGE

Danielo Francois – West Orange High School

The William Paterson bound athlete will dress as a defensive back for the East squad in the All-Star Classic. This season, he helped his team on offense, defense and special teams by returning three kickoffs for touchdowns, scoring two touchdowns on four rush attempts and completing an interception.

Shaquille Grosvenor – West Orange High School

Weighing in at 230 pounds and standing at 6-foot-2, Shaquile Grosvenor will look to help the East secure a victory as a defensive lineman. The West Orange senior was a member of his school’s football and wrestling teams and will be attending Garden City Community College in the fall.

Eric Oden – West Orange High School

Eric Oden will dress as one of three quarterbacks on the East’s roster for the Robeson All-Star Classic. This season, he completed 34 of 55 passes for 443-yards and threw four touchdowns and one interception. He also showed his ability to run the ball by rushing 106-yards on 20 attempts while scoring one rushing touchdown. He was a member of West Orange’s football and baseball teams and will be attending Muhlenberg College.

Javon Mason – West Orange High School

At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Javon Mason is one of the shortest wide receivers on the East’s roster for the Robeson Classic. The West Orange senior will be attending Southern Connecticut State University in the fall. 

Jarod Vyent – West Orange High School

The wide receiver will look to make an impact for his team as he did in his high school career with West Orange. He finished with nine receptions for 145 yards with one touchdown. At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, he has the ability to get up over his defenders and make big plays. He has committed to Fordham University.

Ryan McSherry – Seton Hall Prep

Punter Ryan McSherry will be looking to help the East squad pick up extra points off field goal attempts. During the 2014 season, he made seven field goal attempts, the longest of which came from 29-yards. A member of Seton Hall Prep’s football and baseball teams, the 6-foot tall 175-pound senior plans to attend Bucknell University in the fall.

ORANGE

Marlin Boswell – Orange High School

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound linebacker will certainly cause some headaches for his Western opponents in the Robeson Classic. He made 60 tackles during the season and caused one fumble, which his team ran in for a touchdown. He also contributed offensively with an average of 26.8 rushing yards per game and 19 receptions for 205-yards this season. Boswell will attend Kean University in the fall.

Tyler Bryan – Orange High School

The defensive lineman will bring his services and his 5-foot-11, 260-pound build to the East team tomorrow. He forced his opponents into fumbling the ball four times this season and finished with 57 tackles. 

LIVINGSTON

Mark Silvestri – Livingston High School

Mark Silvestri was a key part of Livingston’s boy’s basketball, baseball and football teams during his time there. The 6-foot-2 wide receiver completed 25 receptions for 391 yards this season and scored three touchdowns. He also showed his versatility by contributing defensively with 44 tackles, a sac and an interception. He also helped on special teams by making two of three field goal attempts. He will be attending College in Rhode Island in the fall.

CALDWELL

John Mannion – James Caldwell High School

The Rowan University bound running back will look to use his talents to drive the East team up field in the Robeson Classic. He averaged 70.7 rushing yards per game this season while running in 12 touchdowns. He scored twice on kickoff returns and once on a two-point conversion.

Darian Andresky – James Caldwell High School

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Caldwell senior will look to use his size as an offensive lineman to create time and space for his quarterbacks in the matchup.

NORTH CALDWELL

Mike Panzarino – West Essex High School

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back played for West Essex’s football, boy’s volleyball and wrestling teams. During West Essex’s run in the Section 2, Group 3 playoffs, Panzarino helped his team beat Voorhees in the opening round with three catches for 97-yards and a touchdown as a receiver. He will be attending Kutztown University in the fall.

Jon Agolia – West Essex High School

Panzarino’s teammate on West Essex’s football and boy’s volleyball teams, Jon Agolia was also a member of the West Essex boy’s basketball team. The 6-foot tall, 185- pound athlete will dress as a wide receiver in the Robeson All-Star Classic and was a big part of his team’s win against Voorhees in the Section 3, Group 3 playoffs as he made five catches for 79-yards and a touchdown to help his team advance. He will stay in North Jersey for College and will be attending Montclair State University in the fall.
