ST. LOUIS, MO — Police arrested a man in St. Louis Friday morning in connection with bomb threats made to at least eight Jewish Community Centers, according to the United States Department of Justice. According to the Justice Department, Juan Thompson made the threats in a woman’s name in order to harass her.

West Orange police said Friday that there was no information at the time to indicate that any recent arrest is tied to the JCC MetroWest incident in West Orange in January. Officers have been conducting directed patrol checks of the JCC since the incident, according to police.

“Thompson’s alleged pattern of harassment not only involved the defamation of his female victim, but his threats intimidated an entire community,” FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge William F. Sweeney Jr. said in a press release. “The FBI and our partners take these crimes seriously. I would also like to thank the NYPD and the New York State Police, who continue to work shoulder to shoulder with us as we investigate and track down every single threat and work together to achieve justice for our communities that have been victimized by these threats.”

Or at least far enough away that they won’t be needing rides home from ...
