Atlantic Federal Credit Union Celebrates One Year in West Orange

Executive Director of Downtown Alliance, Megan Brill and West Orange Councilman Jerry Guarino

WEST ORANGE, NJ — In celebration of its one-year anniversary of becoming part of the West Orange community, Atlantic Federal Credit Union invited the public to a wine-and-cheese mixer on location last week at 455 Prospect Avenue.

Guests enjoyed two drink-raffle tickets upon arrival and some received door prizes throughout the evening. Members of the township council, the business community and the public all joined in the festivities.

“We’re a little over the one-year mark so we thought it would be a good time to reconnect and reach out to some local business owners, town advocators and supporters just to let them know that we’re still here and so we can see some fresh faces,” said Yvana Ellison digital marketing coordinator. “We’ve actually done pretty well, so we’re happy and everyone has been very welcoming.”

Atlantic Federal Credit Union opened in March of 2016 and has since been extremely active in both the West Orange and North Essex Chambers of Commerce. Ellison said the staff has also been involved in many community events throughout the year.

On behalf of the West Orange Township Council, Councilman Jerry Guarino said the township is thankful to have Atlantic Federal Credit Union among its business community. He said the business’ contribution to the community over the past year has not been in monetary value, but in the service it offers to West Orange residents.

“They put people to work here, they are part of the community and what they offer is a service that people need and people now have an option of choosing where they want to bank,” said Guarino. “That’s a good investment for us—it doesn’t always have to be monetary, but they’re giving us a footprint of their service and that’s what we need and that’s what our residents need.”

Atlantic Federal Credit Union currently has locations in West Orange, Newark and Kenilworth. To learn more, click HERE.
