Awesome Marchers of West Orange to Host “Paint ‘n Sip” for Autism Awareness

ORANGE, NJ — In celebration of Autism Awareness Month, Awesome Marchers is hosting a “Paint ‘n Sip” fundraiser on April 23 at Artfull Bean Artisan Café in Orange with all proceeds going toward the PASSE (Parents Advocating for Special Services in Education) Scholarship Fund of West Orange.

The members of PASSE volunteer their time, energy and knowledge to help the Awesome Marchers navigate the Special Educations Services needed in town. The funds raised by PASSE go to qualified graduating students from West Orange High School.

West Orange artist Gina Rivas-Velazquez will provide a step-by-step program for guests to create their own masterpieces to take home at the end of the event. A $35 ticket includes a canvas and paint, wine, light snacks and more.

This event was organized by AngelaCARES, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to “serve as an advocate and support system for senior citizens, their caregivers and a mentor to the youth by educating and empowering them to volunteer.”

Millburn's Peter Serruto Drafted by Cincinnati Reds

MILLBURN, NJ - Peter Serruto, who just completed his senior season at Millburn High School, was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 22d round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft on Wednesday.

Serruto was the 649th pick overall.

The 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed batter has been a defensive standout since he first suited up in a Millburn uniform as a freshman.
