WEST ORANGE, NJ - An early morning bomb threat evacuated Redwood Elementary School, located at 75 Redwood Ave.

According to West Orange Police, there was a "third party" call, and then the students and staff were evacuated to West Orange High School, where they will remain until a thorough search of Redwood is completed.

The West Orange Police Department is taking "every precaution" to ensure the safety of the students and staff at Redwood, they stated.

This bomb threat comes just one day after news of a bomb scare at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. This is also less than two years after the shooting in a Newtown school in December 2012. Yesterday's Newtown bomb threat was determined to have been a hoax.
