WEST ORANGE, NJ – Joe Fagan, West Orange’s Official Town Historian, celebrated the release of his newest book with a book signing at the Oak Barrel Pub on April 14.
Revisiting West Orange was just recently released, and copies were available for signing, as well as his other books on the history of the Township.
Fagan thanked the people who hosted him and those that stopped by. “I just want to express my deep gratitude to Bill Kehoe and the Oak Barrel Pub for the opportunity afforded me for the book signing event,” he said, adding, “I would also like to thank everyone who stopped by to purchase a book. Your many kind and encouraging words are more then I deserve and thanks to you all it was a huge success.”
Fagan has been titled the Official Town Historian by the Township, the latest of several people to hold the designation, and no one can deny he likely will know the answer to just about any question about the history of the town….or find out about it and get back to you.
In February, he spoke at the dedication of the marker to Anna Easter Brown,at the West Orange Library the first historical marker in a project he is spearheading this year, He admitted to the audience he didn’t know of her story before it was presented to him. Yet, at the event marking the unveiling, he came up with information and related materials for the audience to see and feel.
Fagan shares his love of the history of West Orange on the town public access channel weekly as well.
