WEST ORANGE, NJ -- The West Orange boys basketball team scored an upset victory over highly regarded Newark Central in a game played Monday morning at Tarnoff Gym.

Maxwell Dent scored 13 points for the Mountaineers (7-15), who had a one-point lead going into the fourth quarter. They held Newark Central (16-7) to six points in the final period.

Chris Latimer finished with 12 points for West Orange, Gustav Hall scored nine and Johan Atwell had seven points. West Orange outscored Central, 13-6, from the foul line.

It's the second victory in a row for West Orange, which defeated Barringer, 63-59, on Thursday. Hall led the Mountaineers with 15 points and Ismail Kamara Taylor contributed 12 points against Barringer.
