WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange boys basketball team erased a six-point deficit after one quarter and went on to defeat Newark West Side, 41-39, on Tuesday.

Amyin Hanks finished with 10 points and four rebounds for the Mountaineers (3-6), who outscored West Side, 12-7, in the third quarter to take a 31-29 lead.

Michah Moore totaled nine points, three rebounds and three steals, and Maurice Morrison led West Orange with six rebounds to go with six points. Maxwell Dent joined Moore in the team lead in steals with three thefts himself.
