NORTH CALDWELL, NJ -- The West Orange boys soccer team broke through after a scoreless first half for a 2-1 victory over West Essex on Thursday.

Junior forward Doug Farfan scored both goals for the Mountaineers (4-4-1), who outshot West Essex, 16-8.

Mason Bashkoff and Lloyd Guyton each had one assist on Farfan's two goals. Junior goalkeeper Nicolai Matthews made seven saves for West Orange. Christian Housel of West Essex (1-5) was tested often, and came up with 14 saves.
