WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange boys soccer team held off a late threat by Columbia to hold on for a 2-1 victory in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North East G, Group 4 tournament on Tuesday.

Louis Mignone and Darren Lewis each scored a goal, and Justin Reid had the assists on both of their goals as the Mountaineers (13-1) took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Charlie Herley scored in the second half for Columbia (8-4), but West Orange held off the Cougars by establishing a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Nikolai Matthews made four saves for West Orange, which won its 10th game in a row.

The Mountaineers will host Livingston in the semifinal round on Thursday.
