MORRIS, NJ - Morris Habitat for Humanity’s first home building project in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County is in need of volunteers. The continuing project is a joint venture with Perth Amboy Redevelopment Team for Neighborhood Enterprise and Revitalization (PARTNER) and the Perth Amboy Housing Authority. Starting this past week, construction began on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday schedule and additional help will be needed to complete this ambitious project of a a new three-bedroom single-family home that is being built on Lawrie Street.
The homeowner in progress, Noris Mercado and family, are working on their 300 hours of sweat equity helping to build their new Habitat home. THose interested are invited to take advantage of an opportunity to come build side by side with the future homeowner.
Volunteers are essential to the complete of the build. No experience is necessary and instruction will be offered on site. Schedules are flexible and volunteers are welcome to come alone or along with a group.
