WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange District has announced that due to the pending storm, the West Orange School District will have an early dismissal on Monday, Jan. 26. However, the District has also said that a full day cancellation for Monday is still possible. A final decision will be made in the early morning hours, depending on how the storm tracks overnight.
All after school activities, athletic events and Community House After Care programs are cancelled for Monday. For children who normally participate in the Community House After Care program, or attend the After Care program at Edison, parents are asked to make arrangements to pick children up, based on the early dismissal times below.
- High School (7:30 a.m. to 11:50 p.m.)
- Middle Schools (8:10 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.)
- Elementary Schools (8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
The District has also said that while the decision is not final, there is a very good chance that the School District will be closed on Tuesday, due to the snow storm. If the District closes on Tuesday, the message will be communicated as early as possible on Monday.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
West Orange High School students will have their morning midterm as scheduled and the PM midterm will be rescheduled.
There will be NO afternoon Preschool on Monday.

In addition, the Board of Education meeting on Monday night has been cancelled. The rescheduled date will be communicated as soon as it is finalized.
