WEST ORANGE, NJ — Power was lost and the road was closed for an extended period of time on Thursday in the area of Northfield Avenue and Highwood Road due to a large fallen tree, according to witnesses.
According to the Breaking News Network (BNN), which reports on emergency radio activity, live wires and utility poles may have also been down in the road, causing the West Orange Police Department to recall off-duty men to assist at the scene.
It is unclear at this time whether there were any injuries or vehicles involved in this incident. PSE&G was on scene to remove the tree along with assistance from ECSD.
A large area lost power, including multiple traffic lights, and the area between Prospect Avenue and Gregory Avenue was shut down.
