WEST ORANGE, NJ — Circle of Rainbow Sisters Seeking Spiritual and Wellness Connection (CORESSWC) is holding its annual fundraiser, "Women Who Rock the Kitchen,” on March 25 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Tarnoff Cafeteria at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue.

Monies raised will go toward the organization's Financial Readiness Academic Scholarship Award (FRASA) Program. The fundraising goal of $10,000, and $2,000 for books will benefit six juniors and six seniors demonstrating financial readiness skills, financial need and a GPA of 3.0 or better in Financial Literacy in Math and Language Arts, if offered at their high school.

The top six juniors and seniors with the most convincing Financial Readiness essay responses and impressive panel interview will be awarded the respective Scholarship Award.

  • Application/grade submission: May 1- May 31, 2018 - Response to Financial Literacy Essay Questions (60 percent of total score)
  • Panel interview: June 15- June 30, 2018 - Interview by six industry Financial Literacy Experts  (40 percent of total score)
  • Award announcement/Ceremony: July 2018 – West Orange City Hall
  • The scholarship is supported by Mayor Robert Parisi and the West Orange School district.

Tickets are $35 prior to the event and $45 at the door. Attendees will enjoy an appetizer, main course, side dishes and desserts. "Women Who Rock the Kitchen" will be hosted by musical artist Denise Hamilton.
