WEST ORANGE, NJ -- The West Orange girls basketball team has been forced to cancel two scheduled games this weekend because of an outbreak of the flu.

According to West Orange athletic director Ron Bligh, many members of both the girls basketball team and the coaching staff have been ill. As a result, both Saturday's home game against Franklin, and a game scheduled for Sunday against Lincoln High School at Paterson Kennedy High have been called off.

Bligh said that the flu as also affected the wrestling team, but they still participated in a quad match in Kinnelon Saturday. The West Orange boys basketball team had the manpower to play its game against Columbia on Saturday, although West Orange boys basketball coach Demond Cowins reported that one of the team's players was home sick and missed the game.
