WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange High School girls basketball team took home its first-ever Cranford Tournament crown over the holiday, beating Delaware Valley, 49-40.

Senior Jewel Burnett was the Mountaineers' top scorer with 17 points, followed by Dawn Flood with 13 and Mya Bembry with 11.

The Mountaineers logged several successful rebounds in the third to seal the victory over Delaware Valley.

Veronica Christ led Delaware Valley with 22 points, and Margaret Affeld had 15.

The Mountaineers are currently tied for first place with Bloomfield and Millburn, with a 5-0 overall record and a 3-0 record in conference and division play.
