Girls Basketball: West Orange Ends Season with 43-41 Loss to East Orange

WEST ORANGE, NJ - In a repeat of their Feb. 25 heartbreaking 55-53 loss to Newark Tech in the finals of the Essex County Tournament, the West Orange High School Mountaineers fell to East Orange in the NJSIAA North 1, Group 4 semifinal, 43-41.

Although the Mountaineers were leading by five points in the last minute of the game, East Orange's Brianna Turner made two three-pointers and West Orange missed three out of four free throws. East Orange got control of the ball and Brianna Mills scored a layup as the buzzer sounded to put the Cougars on top.

East Orange will move on to face Morristown in the final on Monday.

Moriyah Jordan had 15 points, Turner had 12 and Mills had 11 for East Orange. West Orange's Mya Bembry was the top scorer with 22 points.

The Mountaineers end their record-breaking season with final records of 23-4 overall and 11-0 in conference division play.

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.
