WEST ORANGE, NJ - The top-seeded West Orange girls soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Ridgewood in the semifinal round of the Section 1, Group 4 tournament on Wednesday.

The game, which was delayed a day because of heavy rain, was the 11th shutout this season by West Orange (18-0-2), which has not allowed a goal in three state tournament games. The Mountaineers now have a 38-game unbeaten streak that includes 31 victories and seven ties since their last loss, to Montclair at the end of the 2016 season.

Emma Mitchell scored the game's only goal in the first half with an assist from Natalie Nevins. Cassidy Joyce kept the scoreless streak intact with six saves for West Orange, which outshot Ridgewood (10-9-3) by the slim margin of 7-6.

West Orange will host Livingston for the sectional championship Friday afternoon. Livingston defeated Montclair, 1-0, in the other semifinal on Wednesday.
