WEST ORANGE, NJ -- The West Orange girls soccer team won its third game in a row, defeating Belleville, 4-0, on Thursday.
Natalie Nevins scored two goals and assisted on the other two for the Mountaineers (4-2), who led, 3-0, at halftime. Nevins reached 50 goals and 50 assists for her career.
Kiara Machuca scored the other two goals, with Emma Mitchell and Gianna Festino providing the other two assists. West Orange outshot Belleville, 15-0.
Nevins, a senior, committed last year to St. Joseph's University. She is also in the top 5 percent of her class.
"Getting 50 goals and 50 assists was one of my biggest goals and dreams coming into West Orange High School as a freshman," Nevins said, "and to actually achieve it was an amazing feeling.
"Besides winning a county and state sectional championship, this has been one of my proudest moments through all my four years here," Nevins said
"My goals for this season are to continue to execute on the field and do whatever my team needs me to do to be successful and to hopefully put ourselves in a position for another county and state sectional championship," she concluded.
The next home game will be held Sept. 24 against Nutley beginning at 4 p.m.
