ESSEX COUNTY, NJ - The undefeated West Orange girls soccer team has been awarded the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Essex County Tournament.

The Mountaineers (8-0-2) have received a double-bye into the quarterfinal round of the tournament  and are scheduled to play their first game Saturday, Oct. 20. West Orange will play the winner of Thursday's game between ninth-seeded Millburn and eighth-seeded West Essex.

West Orange picked up its eighth victory on Thursday, 2-0, over Mount St. Dominic. Kiley Capstraw and Emma Mitchell each scored goals in the victory.

Nutley is the second seed, Montclair No. 3 and Montclair-Kimberley the No. 4 seed.

Fifth-seeded Livingston will host 12th-seeded Verona on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Caldwell, the 14th seed, has a preliminary game against 19th-seeded Payne Tech Tuesday in West Caldwell.

West Orange has victories over the number 2, 3 and 5 seeds in the ECT. The Mountaineers tied Montclair-Kimberley, 1-1, last month.

The semifinals are schedule for Thursday, Oct. 25, and the championship game will be played Saturday, Oct. 27.
