WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Children’s Institute (TCI), located in Livingston, is hosting its fifth annual “Fore the Kids” Golf Tournament at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange on Tuesday, Oct. 6 to benefit individuals with autism and related disorders. For more information, call 973.509.3050 ext.237 or send an email to dberry@tcischool.org

According to the school, TCI continues to receive overwhelming support from its families and community supporters. There are currently 75 committed golfers signed up to participate this fall. Over the past four years, this tournament has raised over $400,000 to benefit the children of TCI and adults of The Center for Independence (CFI).

Under the leadership of co-chairs James Hunter of Whippany and Tom Releford of East Hanover, and with support from the event committee’s founder Michael Conley of Mendham, the volunteer committee members said they are pleased with the progress made thus far, and are committed to making a difference in the lives of the individuals who attend TCI and CFI.

In addition, live and silent auctions will take place throughout the evening, and will include items, such as: a private flight down the Hudson River and two round-trip plane tickets to Martha’s Vineyard.

For more than 50 years, TCI has been a pioneer in serving individuals with special learning needs. Today, TCI includes two non-profit schools, approved by the New Jersey State Board of Education, which serve children from ages three-21 on the autism spectrum and with related disabilities, and The Center for Independence, a program for adults over 21, approved by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. TCI is committed to developing the academic, social, behavioral, communication, life and career skills of children, young adults, and adults on the autism spectrum.
