WEST ORANGE, NJ - The third grade Hilltoppers Heat team won their  second Championship at the fourth annual Shore Bash in Bayville, NJ, on June 30.

The West Orange Hilltopper organization sent 5 teams (grades 3-7) to the tournament to compete. Hilltopper teams  play up at least one division 'up' so the Third grade team, under the direction of Coach Lammar Young, played in the 4th grade bracket. 

The third grade team started on Saturday with a loss in a tight game against Bayshore. The team then played their second game and returned to form in a blowout against against the Jagz 4th grade team, 50-9.
 

The Hilltopper Heat faced Bayshore once again on Sunday for the championship. The game was tight in the first half, with a halftime score of Bayshore 9, Hilltoppers 8.  The Heat returned in the second half to score another sixteen points to beat Bayshore, 24-11, only allowing two points to the other side.

The Third Grade Hilltopper Heat team will compete at the Nationals in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, from July 17-20.
