In the Business of Helping Homeless Pets: NJ Copywriters Raise Over $14,000 for West Orange Animal Welfare League

For Fahoury Ink’s 5th annual “Adopt a Shelter Pet” fundraiser, company owner Lisa Fahoury presented a check for $2,767.14 to WOAWL President Sandy Rubin and her team of dedicated volunteers.

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Every October, the content marketing team at Fahoury Ink finds themselves up to their ears in projects — and the animals at the West Orange Animal Welfare League (WOAWL) are wagging their tails in appreciation.

October is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month, and since 2010, the NJ copywriting firm has celebrated by donating 10% of its billings for the month to the WOAWL.

Says company owner Lisa Fahoury, “We’ve got an incredible roster of clients who do their best to keep us busy in October, knowing that the end result is this wonderfully worthy cause.”

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, close to eight million cats and dogs enter shelters nationwide every year. WOAWL is an all-volunteer organization that helps find forever homes for stray and abandoned animals across Essex County. Volunteers work hard to help reduce the number of healthy animals that are needlessly euthanized each year — and that comes at a cost.

This year, Fahoury Ink presented a check in the amount of $2767.14 — donating over $14,000 in the last five years.

“Fahoury Ink has done so much for the league and the animals in our care,” says WOAWL President Sandy Rubin. “Through their generosity, we’ve been able to provide necessary vaccinations, have animals altered and pay the never-ending veterinary bills for animals that rely on us for their future. With the help of Fahoury Ink and its clients, we will continue to see our furry friends enjoy the lives they deserve.”

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
